Youth Apprenticeship Related Instruction

We have been working closely with Southwest Tech to create an approval and authorization process for YA students taking Southwest Tech courses as their related instruction.

For students who are not yet registered for courses ​​​​​​

• Prior to a YA student registering for a related instruction course taken through Southwest Tech, your CESA 3 coordinator will need to approve the course and the form below must be completed and returned to CESA 3.
• We will share the completed form with Southwest Tech and will also keep one in our student records.
• The course will then be billed directly to CESA 3.

For students who are already enrolled and taking fall courses

• For students who are already taking fall courses as their YA related instruction through Southwest Tech, please also have them complete this form and submit the completed form to CESA 3.
• Our goal is to have Southwest Tech bill CESA 3 directly for the approved related instruction courses.
• For fall courses, we will try to have the billing process flow as nicely as possible but it might not be perfect. We hope that we can have everything in place so that it is a smoother process in the spring.

Beginning Farm Management is a year-long class that will focus on the beginning concepts of production agriculture in the areas of:

• Business Planning
• Risk Management
• Recordkeeping & financial statements
• Lending opportunities
• Production Management
• Agricultural Technologies
• Mentorship and Networking opportunities

Students can take the first step toward becoming an automotive technician by enrolling in up to 5 credits that are a part of the Automotive Technician program at Southwest Tech. Classes take place on Wednesday evenings on-site at five area auto dealerships. To participate in Pistons To Pathways, students must complete the Southwest Tech CollEDGE Up application by March 1.

CESA 3, in affiliation with the Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, provides students with up to six courses that allow students to explore construction skills in a hands-on learning environment.

Kickstarted by a $50,000 award from a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Fab Lab Grant in 2023, this phased project provides advanced manufacturing skills and enriches learning with real world experiences such as job shadowing, industry tours, and career camps. This project aligns with the goals of the Workforce Innovation Grant awarded to CESA 3, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville, which is focused on education and training for the manufacturing industry.

SRTNC is a distance learning network that provides multiple resources to help students achieve their academic goals. These courses include video distance learning, higher ed offerings, blended learning, and online learning.
