Career Based/Work Based Learning Experiences

Hands-on learning about health care careers for 7th and 8th grade students! Club Scrub provides hands-on experiences that can pique students’ interest in pursuing a career in health care.

Participants work side by side with heath care professionals, including technicians, doctors, nurses, and therapists. Club Scrub is free, but space is limited. Please sign up as soon as possible.

Sessions are October 8, 15, 22, and 29. Four consecutive Tuesdays from 3:45 to 5:15 at The Richland Hospital and Clinics.

Representatives from several building trades unions will be interacting with students as they explore career pathways in construction. Fun, hand-on activities in many skilled trades crafts! This is a free event for high school students, teachers, and industry partners. Come and learn about the great opportunities that exist! RSVP by February 26, 2025 - click here to register!

Club Scrub is a program created to inspire students to consider health-related careers. These 8th grade students will get to participate in a variety of hands-on, interactive activities throughout the hospital. Examples include: Trying out a “surgery,” giving an injection, performing lab tests, and much more!

Grant Regional Club Scrub will meet once per month at the dates listed below. Students will have the opportunity to hear from medical providers and staff in various departments including: Surgery, Laboratory, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and Rehabilitation.

The Operating Engineers Local 139 invite Wisconsin students, parents, educators, administrators and counselors to join us for a day at the newly expanded Coloma Training Center.

Externship Day is an ideal opportunity to get out of the classroom, meet industry professionals and learn about the high-demand career path of an Operating Engineer.

THE AGENDA FOR THE DAY INCLUDES:

• Tour of the 400 Acre State-of-the-Art Training Center
• Overview of Apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship through Destinations Career Academy, Youth Apprenticeship
• Contractor Panel
• Hands-On Experience with Simulators & Mini-Excavators
