Solve the disadvantages of traditional welding instruction methods with the updated AugmentedArc® Augmented Reality Welding System from Miller.
Unlike classroom instruction, the Augmented Arc system closely resembles live arc welding — without the intimidation of arcs and sparks, and without the need for expensive consumables. It also delivers immediate feedback on techniques when welding MIG, TIG and stick processes, which welding labs can't provide. The Augmented Arc system uses a specially designed helmet that shows students images of the real world, augmented with computer-generated images of metal workpieces, weld arcs and weld beads — now with a new helmet design that's lighter, better balanced and has a larger viewing area. It also shows feedback on students' ability to maintain welding parameters in real time. A new foot pedal accessory kit allows students to use it to control amperage, making it just as realistic as actual TIG welding. Instructors can view and evaluate videos of student welding performance and use the included teacher software to create a virtual classroom with customized curriculum, quizzes and weld exercises.
The result is reduced training time, faster skill development and lower material cost.
