School Psychological Services
Purpose of Program:
School Psychologists work to find the best solution for each student and situation. They use different strategies to address student needs and to improve school and district-wide support systems.
The services of the School Ppsychologist are available to all classes/programs within the district. School psychologists are responsible for completing evaluations and re-evaluations of students and assisting in the special education identification and placement process. They are also able to apply their expertise to a wide range of student service needs.
School Ppsychologists may also work with students individually and/or in groups. They may assist in developing programs to train teachers and parents about effective teaching and learning strategies, techniques to manage behavior at home and in the classroom, working with students with disabilities or with special talents, addressing abuse of drugs and other substances, and preventing and managing crises. School psychologists are integral members of student assistance teams and the response to intervention process.
